Our Morning Routine

Maybe this will help someone else. It always helps when people post what they do and modify it for us š ā ā I am and all or nothing person. Sometimes I get an idea and want to start big right away. Iāve learned through my oils biz that a lot of times itās better to just do small things more consistently over a long period of time. Itās super boring. Itās not as exciting as doing a big thing. ā ā Like when you start a new diet and throw everything away that youāre never gonna eat again. Or purging everything all at once. Those are good (and I have done all of them) but I have really noticed that working small towards bigger things works way better. ā ā Consistency is always wins. It just does. Itās those little pesky daily things that shape your life. ā ā Ok so we have been doing this for almost a month as per the suggestion of my friend Genna. She said they do chores BEFORE school. Itās been working really well. Hereās what we do. ā ā The older two switch off weekly with these: ā ā Bathroom: Wipe counters and toilet. Sweep and spray and wipe floor. Pick up anything that doesnāt belong. ā ā Kitchen and tv room: pick up everything. Sweep kitchen. Vacuum floor. ā ā Then I go into the dining room and entry way and pick up and sweep. ā ā And that makes our whole downstairs super clean. And I love it. Today I finished my chore fast (because since we have been keeping up on it) and I was able to quickly mop the dining room and kitchen. I just spray and wipe. I could do better but thatās good enough. Because if it becomes a habit it will stay pretty clean. ā ā Iām loving this routine right now. And itās really helped our day. Even if it gets messy later, I know that the following morning we will do the same thing. (And we do one pick up before Ben gets home, too) ā ā Itās just nice to see that consistency and little daily discipline really pays off!!

Side note: We also like cleaning with Thieves Household Cleaner. It's a plant based cleaner infused with Thieves essential oil. It's safe for kids, no harsh chemicals and it's only about $1 a bottle. It comes in a bottle that is concentrated so you just add one capful to a spray bottle and fill the rest up with water!
